Graduation will proceed as scheduled at 7:30PM at THS Stadium. If weather changes, updates will be communiated via ParentSquare, social media, text (as needed) and this webpage.

THS Graduation Weather Plan

As we prepare to celebrate the Class of 2026, we are sharing our graduation weather plan so families know what to expect if weather impacts Friday evening’s ceremony. We are hopeful the weather will cooperate so we can continue our tradition of celebrating outdoors at the stadium.

Day-Of Overview (May 22)

  • Graduation is scheduled for 7:30PM on Friday
  • A delay is possible, with a latest start time of 10PM
  • If we cannot begin by 10PM, graduation will move to:
    Saturday, May 23 at 10AM
  • Saturday’s location will be THS Stadium (weather permitting) or Main Street Auditorium
  • Families should assume graduation is on as scheduled unless notified otherwise
  • Updates will be shared via ParentSquare, social media, website, and text message (as needed)
  • A livestream link will be shared prior to the ceremony

Weather & Timing

  • If weather conditions allow, graduation will begin at 7:30PM as scheduled
  • A delay is possible, and the ceremony may begin as late as 10PM
  • If the ceremony cannot begin by 10PM, it will move to Saturday morning

Graduation on Friday, May 22 (What to Expect)

  • Graduation will proceed in light rain as long as there is no lightning in the area, following UIL guidelines
  • Families are encouraged to plan accordingly and bring rain gear if needed
  • Our goal is to hold graduation Friday evening at the stadium, even if a delay is required

If There Is a Delay

  • Families may remain at the stadium or return to their vehicles
  • Both high school gyms will be open as holding areas
  • Updates will be shared via ParentSquare, social media, and on-site announcements

Student Experience

  • While waiting in the fieldhouse, students will have the opportunity to take a photo with a diploma

Parking & Shuttle (Friday)

  • Shuttle service will be available from:
    First Baptist Church
    2500 Mallard Lane, Taylor, TX
  • Shuttles will begin running at 5:30PM

We recommend arriving early and allowing extra time for parking and transportation.

Livestream (Friday)

  • Graduation will be livestreamed on Friday
  • The viewing link will be shared with families prior to the event

If Graduation Moves to Saturday (May 23)

Time: 10AM
Location: THS Stadium (weather permitting) or Main Street Auditorium

  • We will plan to hold graduation at the stadium if weather allows
  • If the forecast shows rain, the ceremony will move indoors to Main Street Auditorium

Final Decision

  • A final decision on Saturday’s location will be shared by 7AM via ParentSquare and Facebook

Indoor Ceremony Details (If Needed)

Location: Main Street Auditorium
3101 N. Main Street, Taylor

  • Due to limited capacity, each graduate will receive 3 wristbands
  • Wristbands will be distributed on Friday to students in case they are needed on Saturday

We understand this may create challenges for families and appreciate your flexibility.

Parking & Shuttle (Saturday)

  • Parking and shuttle service will be available at:
    First Baptist Church
    2500 Mallard Lane, Taylor, TX
  • Shuttle service begins at 8AM

Livestream (Saturday)

  • The ceremony will be livestreamed for family and friends unable to attend in person

Commencement Ceremony Information

Congratulations to the Taylor High School Class of 2026! Graduation is a special milestone for our students and families, and we are excited to celebrate this important moment together. Please review the information below to help prepare for commencement ceremonies.

Commencement Ceremony Information

📅 Friday, May 22, 2026
🕢 7:30 PM
📍 Taylor High School Stadium

Graduates must arrive at the Athletic Field House by 6PM on graduation night.

Update: Graduation will be livestreamed. We will share the livestream link as the date approaches.

Mandatory Graduation Practice

All seniors are required to attend graduation practice on:

  • Tuesday, May 19 at 9AM
  • Thursday, May 21 at 9AM

These practices help students become familiar with ceremony procedures and expectations.

Parking & Shuttle Information

Graduate Parking

Graduates should park in the baseball/softball lot next to the field house or be dropped off at the field house entrance.

Guest Parking

Families are encouraged to limit parking to two vehicles per graduate and carpool whenever possible.

Shuttle Service

Additional parking and shuttle transportation will be available at:

First Baptist Church
2500 Mallard Lane, Taylor, TX

Shuttles will run continuously from 5:30PM-7:30PM before the ceremony and again after graduation to and from the stadium until all guests have returned to their vehicles. 

Please allow extra travel time to arrive before the ceremony begins.

Graduate Dress Code

Graduation is a formal event, and graduates are expected to dress appropriately.

Approved Attire

  • Dress pants, khakis/chinos, dresses, or skirts
  • Dress shoes or dress boots

Not Allowed

  • Blue denim jeans
  • Shorts
  • Flip flops
  • Crocs
  • Athletic shoes

Please use caution when selecting high heels due to unpaved walking surfaces.

Graduation Caps & Stoles

  • Students may decorate caps with college, university, trade school, graduation year, family name, etc.
  • Decorations must remain school appropriate.
  • Personal stoles are permitted but must receive prior administrative approval.

Ceremony Expectations

Participation in commencement is a privilege. Graduates and guests are expected to conduct themselves respectfully throughout the ceremony.

Prohibited Items

The following items are not allowed:

  • Air horns
  • Noise makers
  • Beach balls
  • Laser pointers
  • Other disruptive items

Students who behave inappropriately will be removed from the ceremony.

Guests are asked to remain respectful during all speakers and presentations. Lawn chairs are not permitted in the stadium stands. Please also be mindful of designated handicap seating areas.

Inclement Weather Plan

In the event of severe weather, graduation will be postponed to:

Graduation Held on Friday, May 22

  • All updates will be shared through ParentSquare, Taylor ISD social media channels, and the school website.
     

  • Yes. Announcements will be made at the stadium, in addition to ParentSquare and social media updates.

  • Seniors should plan to arrive at their originally scheduled time at 6 p.m. and follow campus guidance.

  • We will continue monitoring conditions closely.

    • Graduation may be delayed, but could begin as late as 10PM
    • If we are unable to begin by 10PM, graduation will move to Saturday morning
  • Yes. Graduation will proceed in light rain, as long as there is no lightning in the area, following UIL guidelines.

Graduation Moved to Saturday, May 23 (If Needed)

  • If we are unable to begin the ceremony by 10PM on Friday, graduation will move to Saturday, May 23 at 10AM.

  • We will plan to hold graduation at the THS Football Stadium if weather allows.

    • If the forecast shows no rain, the ceremony will remain outdoors
    • If rain is expected, the ceremony will move indoors to Main Street Auditorium, 3101 N. Main Street in Taylor
    • A final decision will be shared by 7AM on Saturday via ParentSquare and Facebook.

  • Due to limited seating at Main Street Auditorium:

    • Each graduate will receive 3 wristbands for guests
