Taylor High School (THS) is strikingly different from other area high schools. The student body has richness in diversity and talent that exemplifies the Taylor community. As "A Place for Everyone," Taylor High has a staff that is committed to uncovering, sharpening, and supporting the development of our students' rich talents.
Our aim is to produce graduates who are not only prepared intellectually for their futures but also have been offered every opportunity to find success.
We support this aspiration is in our Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement (AP) program, TSTC program, and comprehensive offerings. We pride ourselves in providing a breadth of elective and co-curricular activities to support student interests. Our athletic programs regularly compete for playoffs in a variety of sports. The vibrant THS visual and performing arts programs are outstanding. Student work has been recognized with high honors at various state and national competitions. Our growing band regularly places first in state competitions. In addition, over 30 school and student-initiated activities meet regularly to pursue student interests ranging from the BLADE Club to our nationally recognized Academic Decathlon team.
We aim to provide a learning experience that demonstrates a care and concern for each of our students—a defining characteristic of our school. Beyond those initiatives previously mentioned, we also offer credit recovery, extension opportunities, weekly tutoring support, and the Problem Solving Team to provide students with a variety of resources outside of the classroom. Our incoming ninth graders participate in Freshman Seminar, led by upperclassmen in the Duck Pride leadership program, to support student transition from middle school to high school, an invaluable experience not just for our incoming students, but for our student leaders as well.
