My name is Angela Dismukes and I am excited to be joining the Taylor High School Family. This is my 6th year in education and I will be teaching Career Preparation and Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness.
I am passionate about teaching Family and Consumer Sciences as it's specifically geared to prepare students for life after high school. This year I will be starting a Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America chapter at THS. FCCLA provides opportunities for students to make a difference in their families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work and societal issues through FCS education. The opportunities are endless for students with engaging community services, leadership opportunities, and competitive events at the region, state and national levels. As a student of my class you can join FCCLA and be a part of the ultimate leadership experience!
A little about me...I grew up in Hutto, Texas and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Geography. I worked at H-E-B in multiple roles for 20 years until the schedule wasn't conducive for raising a family. My next position was with the Williamson County Extension Office for 5 years. In 2017 I decided to pursue by teacher certification and started my first teaching position at Jarrell High School where I taught FCS classes and was co-advisor to a nationally recognized FCCLA chapter. I'm excited to bring my experience and passion to THS and look forward to being a part of the rich history and traditions of this school and community.
I've been married for almost 13 years to my husband, Adam, who works as a process engineer for Tesla. We have two sons, Calvin (15) and Jack (9). As a family we enjoy boating, fishing, raising livestock, camping and gardening. I also LOVE college football (Gig'em Ags!), the beach, reading and Formula 1 racing.
