Taylor ISD is offering opportunities for secondary students to earn credit in academic subjects and for elementary students to accelerate a grade level by passing the appropriate examinations for acceleration. Exams will be offered for all grade levels 1-5 and most TEKS-based courses in grades 6-12. The purpose of examination for acceleration is to allow a student to accelerate and earn credit for a particular course or grade level without formal instruction in that course or grade level. "Say Cheese" is a restaurant owned and operated by students with disabilities. May 1st will be the last day of the year the restaurant will be open. The menu will include grilled cheese sandwiches, homemade fires or tomato basil soup and a slice of vanilla or chocolate cake. The restaurant will be open from 11 am to 2 pm.

Ag Students participated in the Williamson county Livestock Association show this week at the Taylor Expo Center. Several students placed in the competition.

The Texas Workforce Commission is offering work-based learning opportunities for students 16-22 years of age with disabilities to explore careers, gain new work experience, learn new transferable skills, and earn money. The application deadline is April 18th.

Students will be taking the English 1 STAAR test on Tuesday, April 9 and the English II STAAR Test on Thursday, April 11. Students must arrive on campus on time and should plan on a good night's sleep as well as a nutritious breakfast. The campus will be closed to visitors during these days.
