Jarvis Anderson won the 110 hurdles (14.05), 300 Hurdles (37.46), and the Triple Jump (51'1). He also qualified for state but he will compete in Brazil with the USA Deaf Track Team at the Deaflympics.

The 4x400 relay (Ashton Vega, Brandon Alderete, Christian Rohlack, Jarvis Anderson) placed 5th with a time of 3:25.1, which was our best time of the year.

I am very proud of these guys! They put in a lot of hard work and it definitely showed on the track. They did a great job of representing our school and Track program.

Texas Relays

Austin, Texas

The boys had a good weekend at the Texas Relays.  This was the perfect meet to prepare us for the district meet on April 6-7 in Taylor. The 4x100 Relay (Marcus Jackson, Andrias Fisher, Ashton Vega, Brandon Alderete)  ran a 45.45 which was not their best time of the year but they did a good job competing.  The 4x400 Relay (Jackson Meller, Brandon Alderte, Ashton Vega) was 15th out of 37 teams.  The team was short handed but ran hard! I was so proud of the way others stepped up. Jarvis Anderson placed 2nd in the 110 Hurdles with a 14.04.  He placed 7th in the 300 Hurdles vs 6A competition with a 37.27.  That time broke our school record of over 30 years.  He also finished 19th in the Long Jump and 20th in the Triple Jump.

Quote:  Our boys did a great job of competing as the Varsity finished 2nd overall and only lost to 5A Georgetown Eastview by 9 points.  Our JV finished 3rd overall with 68 points. Our track program is based on the 400 meters, so sweeping (JV & Varsity) the 4x400m relay is definitely encouraging.  We also placed 2nd in the 4x200 (Varsity) and the 4x100 (JV).  We will be back in action at home this week as we host The Cotton Boll Relays on Thursday, March 10th.  Field events start at 1:30pm with the 3200 at 3:00 pm and the running finals at 5:00 pm.
